The Service

A Clean Fence Makes Your Whole Yard Look Better

Fences are one of the most neglected surfaces on a property. Vinyl fences go from bright white to green-grey over a few seasons. Wood fences collect lichen, algae, and dark staining that makes even a well-built fence look rundown.

I clean both vinyl and wood fences using the appropriate method. One of the most dramatic transformations we deliver, and one of the most popular requests we get.

Got Questions

Fence Cleaning FAQ

Can you remove the black spots on my vinyl fence?+
In most cases, yes. Those black spots are usually mold, mildew, or artillery fungus, and they come off very well with a soft wash and the right cleaning solutions. Older vinyl fences with deeper lichen staining can be more stubborn — sometimes the stain has actually pitted the surface — but we still see major improvement on almost every fence we clean. We'll always be honest with you up front about what kind of result to realistically expect for your specific fence.
Do you clean both sides?+
Yes, we clean both sides of the fence wherever we can safely get access. If a neighbor's landscaping, a locked yard, or shared property limits the back side, we'll still clean as much as we can reach and let you know in advance. Cleaning both sides gives you a uniform finish and prevents mold from creeping back through to the front through the panels.
Will it damage my landscaping?+
No. Plant safety is built into how we work. We pre-wet every shrub, flower bed, lawn area, and tree near the fence line so any cleaning solution that drifts is diluted on contact, then we rinse everything thoroughly when we're done. The biodegradable, plant-safe products we use break down quickly and won't harm your yard or your pets.
How often should I clean my fence?+
For most South Shore fences, every one to two years is the right cadence. Fences in shaded yards, close to the coast, or surrounded by trees pick up green algae and black mildew faster and may need cleaning every year. White vinyl shows buildup the most, so a regular cleaning schedule keeps it looking new and protects your investment for the long haul.
